Welcome to Mr. Vack's Class Blog.
There are even stats that protect long summers by law and that some people just don't like the idea.
Middle-class parents say that is important for kids to, " Lie on their backs and watch the clouds for hours over a long summer break." But by ninth grade LOW INCOME students were about three and a half grade levels behind middle class kids.
people that like the traditional school year say that kids need to just lie on there backs and watch the clouds.
Some supporters of the traditional school day say that it's important for children to relax. Another counter argument is that Arnold Shwartznegger has not provided enough school and educational funding. This research shows that it would be harder to pay for that much more supplies and materials
I think that A little bit longer school year might be alright but it mentioned a 230 day year. That seems a bit radical. The article also said that the year-round school year costs more and the way Governor Shwarzenegger has been cutting the education system in California, we will be either late to get longer school years or won't get them at all. Also, The "intersession" classes sound like a summer school. It seems like the author makes summer sound boring and dull. It isn't at all. Kids will find something to entertain them no matter where they are. I don't know what kids the author was talking to but only boring people get bored. Also the quote about the cow was totally random. The research does say that the extended school year helps kids. I can keep my mind open.
counter arguments against it would be, kids are happier with a long break, parents get to spend time with kids more. They say parents enjoy more time off but that is not always true.
They say that bye 9th grade 3 1/2 are behind there peirs
The PArents think that its a good idea and that the kids should go. IT could help the kids so they wouldnt forget things so quicly and then they could do better in school
Kids would be upset because they might wont more brake and the teachers might get grumpy because they have to teach so much.
One guy said that people fell 3 1/2 grade levels behind and that the cause of that was because of the longer breaks regular schools have
Maybe she wants to make her kids go to this school cause she forgot how it was to go to school.
